Breaking waves – brief update

If you want to know where we are right now, log on to Marine Traffic and look for LESCALE GB – our AIS transmitter will pinpoint our exact current (or most recent) location, assuming we’re in reach of a coastal station if we’re underway.  If that doesn’t work, try VesselFinder (just use LESCALE): they have aerials in different places, and might find us if we’re not near a MT receiver…

UPDATE Thursday 21 January 2021 So, what is Winter like here in Western Greece?  Well, I guess it depends what you define on the calendar as Winter: we arrived in the Ionian at the beginning of November, and enjoyed around six weeks of mainly settled, calm, balmy weather, apparently much better than last year’s Autumn.  But when it started to rain, boy, does it rain.  I guess that’s why the Greek Spring is said to be so beautiful – vegetation and wildflowers thrive after the wet season.  We’ve just had a few days of (relatively) VERY cold weather, with frost yesterday morning.  It’s not helping our anti-fouling painting schedule, but there’s always plenty of other jobs to be working through – fridge door seals have been replaced, Electroscan unit has been removed, outboard engine has been serviced and main engine (Trevver) has had oil replaced…

We’ll be here for a while longer yet, and don’t expect to be allowed to go anywhere until at least early May, but this blog will be tidied/updated here and there meanwhile
