A new friend

Thursday 1 September

Autumn is creeping up on us in the morning cool, but the days are still lovely and the sun hot enough to allow the crew to top up their tans.

Today turned out to be a momentous occasion, as we had ringside seats to watch the launch of the very last Allures 45: X34, Diomedea of Plymouth.  She looked very smart in her new navy trim, and my crew were excited to watch her enter the water, as this was the one step in the process of my build they were not around to witness.  I wonder if the factory prefer it this way?!  We are heading to Plymouth for the Winter, and I hope she may be there – sister ships to be company for each other.  That will be really special, as there are so few of us it’s unlikely we’ll meet many others along the way.

My crew also celebrated the launch of Garcia Exploration 45 Alcyon with her new owner and his crew.  Champagne flowed as always at these moments…well, we are French boats, remember!
